Years ago, when PCs were just coming on to the market, I worked for a computer consulting company. Every year we gave a Japanese company a big presentation about the industry, and they gave the presenter a PC. I wanted a PC, so I spent weeks preparing my talk.

The day came and I gave my presentation. And the PC? Nope. I got a set of cuff-links and I didn't even have a shirt that used them.
