They know it’s controversial to some, so the organizers of the White Privilege Conference aren’t looking for a lot of advance fanfare as its 18th annual gathering heads for Kansas City for the first time. It can be a volatile subject.
Some 2,500 people — including college and high school students, teachers, university faculty, social activists, counselors, clergy and business people — gathered for the 17th annual conference in Philadelphia a year ago.
The conference will run from April 27 to 30.
Materials for the conference aim to make it clear both what the conference is about — and what it’s not about.

Why is the blue hand above the others?
I hope they all fly to the conference on planes with equitable maintenance with pilots with equitable skills in stormy skies with equitable air traffic control and stay in hotels with equitable distribution of bed bugs.
If all those guilt-ridden privileged white people don’t give everything they have to some poor downtrodden non white gang banger; they haven’t got a hair on their you know what.
This has been going on for almost 20 years?!
My first thought related to some groups that want to exclude whites because they can’t understand what it means to lack privilege. So likewise should this conference be whites only because we only want those who understand having privilege in our safe space?
White Privilege used to be known simply as:
The Protestant Work Ethic.
Would it be correct to assume white people are not welcome to attend this conference.
If some white people are allowed to attend would that not be considered a PRIVILEGE?
White Privilege = White competency and Western Civilization.
If they don’t like those things, they should quit appropriating all elements of my cultural heritage, things like indoor plumbing, electricity, and the light bulb, just for starters.

I really hope to one day have someone use this term in my presence and be serious about it. They will leave in no way uncertain as to what I think about them and the idea.

What a pile of idiots and lunativs.
It baffles me how these perverse racist assertions of “white guilt” are allowed to go unchallenged. Such claims should be trashed and its promoters of division be confronted as perverse racists.
Legal immigrants coming from Europe during that era of the mid and late 19th century immigration had nothing to do with slavery here yet because of the color of their skin they and their millions of offspring are . Likewise they were expected to be able to provide for themselves and contribute to society otherwise they were not allowed entry.
