“Medicare and Socialist Security are the biggest frauds ever perpetrated on American citizens.”
The basic federal income tax is the biggest fraud.
Medicare and old age Social Security work fairly well. Yes, SS benefits will have to be reduced by about 25%. Medicare taxes and premiums will need to be raised.
Once you institutionalize a benefit you will have hell to pay if you ever try to take it away.
“Coverage” with a $5,000 deductible is rarely of any benefit.
Zerocare isn’t like food stamps or housing vouchers.
One eats and sleeps daily - most Zerocare “beneficiaries” will get nothing in any given year.
The Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) is a federal law that requires anyone coming to an emergency department to be stabilized and treated, regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay, but since its enactment in 1986 has remained an unfunded mandate.
Current funding mechanism: Affordable care act.
It would appear the argument at this time is replace vs repeal or rather fund the 1986 mandate or leave it unfunded altogether.
For those advocating repeal only are providing a false conservative argument since having an unfunded mandate is not a conservative position. A pure conservative position would be the repeal of the 1986 law.
I am in agreement with President Trump and that is we wish to keep the 1986 law and also make sure the funds are made available through public or private sources in the most efficient means to best meet those needs.
Step 1: Repeal Obamacare.
Step 2: After a full repeal, hold straight up or down votes within the GOP on each medical care option [consistent with the enumerated powers] that any republican wants in our national legislation on medical care.
Step 3: For each idea with support from a majority of republicans in the House, hold a straight up or down vote with the entire House on a separate legislative bill for each narrow item.
Step 4: For each idea with support from a majority of the House, hold a straight up or down vote in the Senate on a separate legislative bill for each narrow item.
Send those bills to President Trump one by one for signature, or veto. I don’t want a “comprehensive health care plan”. I want those very few good laws that can stand on their own merits and not just with political deal-making.
When are Republicans going to stop operating within the confines defined by the Democrats?
They’ve got it all - House Senate and Presidency, they promised repeal, now do it. Do it NOW.
Can anyone point to the clause or amendment in the US Constitution that gives the Federal Government The Authority over the Health Care of the Citizenry??
I’m still waiting,......
