Amazon.com Inc. said Friday that it will create 2,500 full-time jobs in New Jersey through three new fulfillment centers. The state already has seven facilities. Workers at the Edison fulfillment center will handle smaller items like books and toys. Amazon announced in January that it would create 100,000 jobs over the course of 18 months, many in fulfillment centers. Amazon shares are up 0.2% in premarket trading and up 43% over the past year. The S&P 500 index is up 12.6% for the last 12 months....

Amazon is near Chaos...
i still will not buy from them again.
sad to watch people work for and help grow such businesses that are not for the USofA.
“sad to watch people work for and help grow such businesses that are not for the USofA.”
Amazon is more valuable than Walmart.
Amazon runs a good business. What their owner does with his money is his business. On occasion I’ll let someones politics effect my purchases but for the most part it’s a FREE MARKET decision.
Slave labor at just above minimum wage with no permanency. Hard physical labor involved. NOT for seniors.
My brother worked a holiday season at one of Amazon’s fulfillment centers. It was brutal and strenuous. But if someone needs a job, and can handle that workload, I suppose it’s good. Jobs in America will reflect well on our President!
I understand the one around Columbia, SC pays a little better.
It’s a revolving door from what I hear.
If it’s slave labor, sweatshop conditions, lousy pay, borderline criminally stupid management, look no further than a midwestern based electronics recycling and reselling outfit that has a branch in a couple of states.
I wound up in the ER twice, mainly due to some organs failing way before normal. There wasn’t much else in the early years of the wun’s economic miracle.
My son worked at one for a couple years. Their labor practices are pretty abhorrent—especially toward the blue color workers. However, it beats fast food, if you can handle the physical requirements.
They rely on turnover to keep labor costs low, and they play a lot of games to ensure few of the workers get vested. It’s a decent job, but not much of a career. The managers make more $$$, but they burn through them pretty quick as well.
Amazon is an American company, the 9th largest employer in the United States, with a payroll of 341,000 people. Those people live and work in communities across the US, pay taxes, buy stuff in local stores, and are productive citizens.
You seem to have a bone on because of how the founder spends his time. Maybe you need to check your attitude.
I use em for everything. Prime for 2 day free delivery, Fresh for food. Prime again for videos and music.
Bought just about every Christmas gift on it and buy just about everything i need on it.
Nephew climbing the ranks in NJ as a trainer. Making a nice salary and they’re paying for him to go back to school and finish college.
You’re using NOTHING from Microsoft, Apple, Google, etc?
If you are, join the crowd that uses things from left wing America hatin companies :)
I’ve boycotted Target, Pepsi, Budweiser, etc. etc.
I’ll stick with those.
The line for Chick Fil A in Manhattan is 3 blocks long still. LOTS of liberals.
People buy what’s good.
Plus 100
25 an hour after 2 years and health insurance and paying for college (nephew) is slave labor?
Sounds like rewarded American work ethic.
Again, my nephew LOVES it there in NJ. Says they treat him great, making a very good salary and going back to finish college on their dime.
many of you who responded to me missed the root point. if you support someone who is anti american, whether they run an american company and employ people and you get great deals etc, you still support owners and company leaders who are anti american. I don’t care if they do good things and donate money here and there, their (Amazon’s) root is rotten, their fruit no matter how appealing is rotten at it’s core.
They don’t want you to stay. After 5 years or less they want you to leave. It’s not long term for 98 percent of the employees. It’s ok for younger man or woman but not for handicapped or seniors. Lifting 65 plus pounds 1000 times a shift for 10 hours or more a day. Productivity quotas are strictly adhered to. Not pulling or lifting 100%? Write ups and termination.
