DNC rally with anti-abortion candidate fuels backlash

The addition of an anti-abortion Nebraska mayoral candidate to a Democratic National Committee “unity tour” sparked blowback from the left on Thursday.

Democrat Heath Mello, a Bernie Sanders-backed candidate for mayor of Omaha, is scheduled to appear with Sanders and Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.), the DNC's new deputy chair, at a sold-out rally on Thursday.

There was a time when Democratic bigwigs as recently as the 70s called abortion murder and an abomination.

Saw clips of this on the local news last night. Presumably, Bernie was in Omaha to campaign for the mayoral candidate, Heath Mellow. But, what I saw showed Bernie generally trying to fire up the DNC base, so they can “take back America” or some such crap. Clearly, Bernie was using this event more for his own purpose than to help Mello, in our non-partisan mayoral race. They showed several (sorry to say, but all very overweight and unattractive) women, who commented on how excited they were to see Bernie, and pleased that he’s still pushing for free college.

I don’t put any stock in a pro-life Democrat. They usually vote right along with his party on bills even if they include abortion. They support fellow candidates that in their party that are ardently pro-abortion. They don’t take pro-life stands.

Mellow merely advocated that women "be informed of their right to request a fetal ultrasound."

That's what they're calling "anti-choice".

The Democrats demand conformity to the party line. I am reminded or the saying that nails which stick out are beaten with a hammer until they all appear the same.
