LEXINGTON, MS (Mississippi News Now) - More than 100 jobs could soon be coming to the city of Lexington in Holmes County.

Emerald Transformer announced today it will open a new factory on Bowling Green Road.

More jobs, more tax dollars and more exposure - that's what folks here in Lexington hope Emerald Transformer can do for their small town.

Signs are going up and the company officials prepare to breath new life into this 100,000 square foot building.

Holmes County board president James Young and his team said for years, the Lexington warehouse has sat empty.

"This is something that we have been praying for quite sometime," said Young.

County officials also point that more than 1,000 people leave Lexington and Holmes County for employment. This new factory is expected to put a dent in that number.

That's welcoming news to Lexington's Mayor Clint Cobbins and Representative Bennie Thompson.

"100 jobs coming to any community is something that is very good," said Thompson. "But coming to Lexington and Holmes County Mississippi, a place with a significant unemployment rate, this is a big deal."

"We are looking forward to those people working out of town, working the night shift and want to be home with their family," said Mayor Cobbins. "By this company here, we hope those people will be able to come back home."

The factory is consolidating existing operations in Madison and Greenwood. Stuart Prior is the Chief Executive Officer of Emerald Transformer.

"The location is great off of I-55 to I-20," said Prior. "The pool of the workforce, the location of our existing companies and our customer base from southeast were our primary reasons for moving here."

Prior also points out that this facility provides room to expand the business.

"Lexington and Holmes County, we are on the move," said Cobbins. "We want other companies to start coming and viewing and look at other businesses coming here and see what we have to offer."

This new factory is expected to officially open in the fall.

I wonder if commie Bennie Thompson will thank Trump for the new business climate that we seem to be having with him in office?

Probably not...God do I ever despise that black racist bastard!
