The Ruger looks a lot like the Nambu but internally not alike at all. The Nambe was locked by, I guess it would be called a swinging block. The Ruger is simple blowback.

Absolutely. Ruger only mimicked the grip angle and overall profile.

The Type 14 is a locked breech, centerfire weapon and Ruger's .22 is a simple blowback.

Want to talk about useless? How about those .500 S&W revolvers? Or the Automag .44?

Desert Eagle?

What I remember about that was Allied soldiers took the “knee” part of it seriously and tried to fire captured examples with the thing braced against their leg. Tough way to get a broken femur.

I can’t speak to the Wildey Automag, but the Desert Eagle .44 Magnum isn’t a bad gun. It’s not a “combat pistol” because it jams too frequently, but it’s fun at the range.

"Desert Eagle?"

Yup, another oversized, overweight, and useless handgun.

I am of the old school: if you can't kill it with a 1911, you need to take up knitting.

Unfortunately, yes. Kind of a Darwinian mental fitness test they failed.

Good thing it wasn’t called a “crotch mortar.”

I bought one just to push on the sear to fire it. Worked as advertised. I also have the Type 14 and Type 26, but that ugly, unsafe, klunker is my favorite.
