McCain: I think the White House backing off of regime change in Syria is responsible for gas attack
HotAir ^ | April 10, 2017

The key bit comes at 4:30, a few minutes after he talks about working to remove Assad and ISIS at the same time. Old and busted: Two-front wars. The new hotness: Two-front wars within the same country.

Marco Rubio made this same lame point about the same Rex Tillerson comment that McCain is thinking of and got called out on it by Tillerson himself this weekend, as Ed mentioned earlier. Tillerson said on March 30th that it was for the Syrian people to decide whether Assad remains in charge (and doubled down on that position yesterday), a notable break from Obama’s “Assad must go” policy. The Senate’s superhawks were aghast; regime change must be the goal. When the gas attack in Idlib followed Tillerson’s comments on April 4th, Rubio floated a little cause and effect: It was because Tillerson had showed provocative weakness by suggesting Assad might remain in power, he insinuated, that the regime felt emboldened to use sarin in Idlib. To which Tillerson rightly replied, how do you explain Assad’s previous gas attacks then?

McCain is just like the other democrats. Bad news are always blamed on Trump or Putin.

No chance he would even pin the blame on this guy:

McCain is consistent. He always shoots off his mouth to provoke attacks on Russia or Russian allies. —— alas, the biggest gift we could give our Islamic enemies is to make a war against Russia. That’s the moslem dream- to get the Christians nations to self- destruct.

As abhorrent as Assad is, he’s the least worst of all options. The existing alternatives are far worse.

I think it’s time for John McCain to retire from the U.S. Senate so he can pursue a career doing product testing for suicide bomber vests.

McCain knows this, does he? I can’t get those pics of him and his buddies, the anti-Assad rebels, out of my mind.

Meddling McCain is more than suspect if one wants to truly investigate responsibility for events in Syria.

McCain would know because he and Linda were most likely behind the people who did it.

Gawd, McPOOP is so cocky and arrogant.

Why is this horses ass involved at all?
He facilitated ISIS and kidnappers and was photographed with them...
The concept of using ISIS to depose Assad is asinine.... same stupidity as using al queda in Afghanistan... in fact ISIS/al queda call it what you wish are not able to depose Assad and we are being lied to that theUSA is fighting ISIS when in fact we are supporting them... directly and indirectly...
When do we get the truth on the ISIS arm shipments via ships from Benghazi to Turkey and direct to Syria... ?
We won the war in Iraq and Obama/Brennan gave it away and came up with the stupid plan that has let ISIS spread to Lybia and invade Europe with a “migrant” wave... Obama is a traitor and a jihadi ... he did nothing to stop the massacre of Christians and openly supported the Muslim Brotherhood... a terrorist organization.

McCain be publicly shamed, then electrocuted, arrested as an ISIS-aligned domestic terrorist, thrown in GITMO for daily waterboarding, then time for slow cutting off of every finger, toe, and genitals without anesthesia, strangled to death, then forced drinking of lye and capsicum, followed by hanging, drawing, and quartering, capped off with ISIS members serially raping his corpse. Then I would piss on his grave.

I'd argue that McCain's backing of the opposition (ISIS) has resulted in burning people alive and numerous be headings.
