Why is the free market so horrifying to them?

It is not about healthcare and never was. It is about control and elections. With single payer, every election will be about the meanie Repubs wanting to take away your healthcare and ever-loving Dems wanting to preserve it and give you more.

[Single payer is a damned nightmare. I cannot think of a single thing good about it. Why is the free market so horrifying to them?]

Its all about the Medicaid. That is the established infrastructure for single-payer.

ObamaCare was about expanding Medicaid rolls and having the everybody else pay for it through high premiums.

Yep the GOP is going to usher in Single payer. In about 24 mos. The average American either wants it or will embrace it.

Here is the moment in time I realized we are going to single payer: Right after Ryno care got voted down Trump came out and made comments. At one point he said that in a little while the GOP and the Dems will get together and come up with “a big beautiful plan”. I thought to myself yeh, single payer. No doubt Ryan has told Trump its the only way out of Ocare.

I don’t blame Trump. He is moving on to things he can control.

What he said he wanted was a plan that would leave no one uninsured.....

Insurance itself is the problem. Government in the form of medicare, medicaid and now Obamacare is like a tape worm that's eating the host and driving costs into the Stratosphere.

But we've got too many junkies now to ever get unhooked. Get used to $1500 a month premiums. They're here to stay.

I think its coming down to this, either real, free market reforms, or its going to be socialized... and I see the chance for real free market reforms as being very, very slim.

I could be wrong but I think this is basically how the French system works. It has both a public and a private system.

Why would I blame myself? You need to buy a clue. How is Trump going to stop the GOP from following their genetic predilection of taking the easy way out? He’s not.

No. No government involvement at all. The healthshare arrangements will do fine. Just repeal obamacare then repeal every other government tie with and intervention into medicine and insurance. The only Constitutional involvement is guaranteeing weights and measures and, perhaps, by extension truth in advertising and labeling.
