Councilman David Ryu, Councilwoman Nury Martinez, Councilman Jose Huizar, Analyst Felipe Chavez. There is a connection here.
Federal funding was tied to seat belts and 55mph speed limits wasn’t it ? ..... precedent .
The federal government owes no city any money.
The feds aren’t *going after* anyone. They are just holding back funding the cities should never have gotten in the first place.
What’s LA going to do to *hit back*?
Throw a temper tantrum?
The Feds have used their highway and education cash as bribe-money for decades.
But lower judges could attempt using the Equal Protection clause to make the Feds apply some “fair” way to spread wealth, instead of using conditions.
Supreme Court is the end game. Then judicial impeachments.
The quicker, easier way is for Congress to tell Federal courts what cases to hear; if they refuse, vacate them. If Congress had any stones. One day, this may allow states to decide their own abortion and marriage laws.
Yes, it is voluntary, if you want the federal funds, you’ll comply with it. If you don’t, then don’t.
I wonder where these liberals were when federal highway funds were threatened if states didn’t enact a 21 or over drinking law or 55 mph speed limits... Surely those were just as illegal in their book... Oh, right, it didn’t go against their agenda then.
We’ll get Gorsuch. If he has to be rammed through, so be it. I suspect all of President Trump’s SCOTUS picks will have to be rammed through.
Let’s hope he’s the right guy. His prior rulings are sound, from what I gather.
The courts are too important to allow Dems to have a say and Trump knows that. Remember, there are also federal judgeships that he will be appointing.
Just enforce the law. They could have these council members arrested depending on how far they go.

All it wil take is a couple class action suits against cities from people and families who were criminalized by illegals. I would think, there are many ongoing now.
This is kinda like Reagan being served a soft ball with the controller strike. The public over welmingly supported him, as they do with Trump now.
The Seattle lawsuit is already heading in that direction...finding a municipal imaginary constitutional right to discretionary federal spending. Count on it.
It’s a concept so simple, even a democRat should be able to understand...
Federal money always comes with strings attached. If you don’t like the restrictions, then don’t take the money.
Yes, they are all traitors to the U.S. Constitution. They are all community activists. They are all people whose priorities lie with invaders. They are all P'sOS.
Mexico's annexation of California is well under way. IMO, California is lost.
Sorry - wrong thread. That graphic was for the Tucker Carlson debate on Charles Murray.
That’s why the DOJ should threaten arrests, not funding cutoffs. They won’t be able to forum-shop their criminal case.
Sorry, ain’t nothing to delicately unravel the spaghetti of our once Republic.
States shouldn’t be sending ANYTHING to Fedzilla; they *should* be enforcing their OWN laws.
Fedzilla shouldn’t be involved in 99% of what passes for ‘lawful’ these days (IOW: no authority and, most importantly, no $$$ to ‘give’).
The ONLY valid thing Fedzilla should be doing is perp walking all the criminal activity in the States AND Fedzilla (that last part is the biggest stretch. Though, why can’t the State(s) in return??); especially those violating the Rights of We the People (welfare, 2nd, etc.).
Fedzilla does anything but hand slap and the whole house of cards start to come down. Same reason we don’t see Fedzilla going after Hillary\Comey\etc. (the whole corrupt cabal known as D.C.).
I wouldn't be surprised if liberal judges try to undo and block everything trump does, from here on out.
I sure hope Gorsuch ends up being the kind of judge we need him to be.
PS IMO they should move to impeach the Hawaii judge and any other judge that tries to take over the presidency (And trump should scold the hell out of these judges--I expect some advisor group told him to back off. that was the wrong move.)
