Does my memory serve me correctly that one of the other top “Intelligence” guys also flat out lied to Congress some time ago? Was it Brennan or Clapper? I thought I remember one of them did and got away with it. Is there a statue of limitations on lying to Congress? Let AG Sessions arrest him too.

Comey had double secret permission from both Obama and Hillary to lie, so it's all perfectly fine.
For some reason, my mind has harkened back to the Republican Convention and Ted Cruz committing political suicide. Donald Trump showed up to watch that speech, he knew that Cruz could not help himself and would do something outrageous. After Cruz did exactly that, the Donald got up and left. He had given Cruz the rope to hang himself, and Cruz obliged.
I now have to wonder if Comey was retained for the same reason. Did Trump know, or suspect, something like this and decided to let it play out and have the guy ruin himself? If so, Machiavelli would be impressed.
