Consider Denmark and Norway
The inexplicable happiness of the Norwegians and Danes as propagandized by the liberal-left media created a model for humanity and for Americas Democrats. It is a socialist utopia with no needy people and a government largesse subsuming the entire gamut of free-lunch ideology.
Scandanavian societies are outwardly more humane than Eastern Block Soviet nations under Stalinist rule. The oppression of the Scandanavians at first glance is benign. But
it is oppression nevertheless, and benign only to those who prefer to have bureaucrats make the decisions for their lives and futures. They have absolutely no idea what makes people free.
A bird in a golden cage is still a captive bird, enslaved and utterly dependent on the interests of its keeper.
I spent 4 years in Norway back in the 80s. The author is right. Groupthink on steroids. Taxes like you wouldn’t believe, especially “sin” taxes for products the government doesn’t want you to consume. Like red meat, booze, a 2nd car, etc. All those resulted in taxes of at least 100%.
And they are being told that the spike in rapes and other crimes by Muslims is a good thing.
The Stepford Wifes were “happy” too.
Both countries occupied by the Nazis during WWII. And it wasn’t they who liberated themselves.
I’ve often thought any place that could give the world such upbeat stuff as Norwegian black metal has to be a pretty jolly.
Freegards
They’re all happy in totalitarian states. Ask Diane Sawyer, she’ll tell ya!
An American convert to Buddhism wrote a book called Tibet/Tibet. He said the name indicated how he felt about people’s opinions about the country, that there was a real Tibet and an imaginary Tibet that was either heaven or hell depending on who you asked. But he said the real Tibet was just a country like every other country.
I think Scandinavia is like that. Its just a place like every other place. But people think its either heaven or hell.
They have gradually been hypnotized into believing everything that their socialist masters tell them. It seems that the Scandinavian countries are part of any experiment in a “democratic” government when the leaders gradually put more pressure on the people just to see how much they will endure. Classic case of the frog in the kettle. These are countries run by psy-ops. It has been going on in this country as well but not as long.
