President Trump made headlines once again after his budget plan was released to the public. The plan will eliminate funding for the arts, public media, and additional independent agencies such as the African Development Foundation, the Delta Regional Authority, and many others. A plethora of Americans expressed their dismay at these groups losing their government funding, while others noted the budget’s ability to reduce a portion of America’s national debt.

As one individual stated, we are trillions of dollars in debt and the President has to make certain budget cuts as a means of reduction. They went on to slam liberals for their lack of knowledge regarding budgeting and sacrifice, noting their contentment to remain as ‘debt slaves.’

If they’re receiving federal funding, then they’re not independent, I think.

The first rule when you are in debt - quit spending.

Especially when you need to borrow money to spend.

This nation is trillions in debt. It is way past time we quit “redistributed” the wealth.

If it is not necessary for the security of the nation, it should be eliminated.

We really need a constitutional amendment that prohibits spending on these types of things.

If they depend on taxpayers funding they’re not really independent.

It's no "sacrifice".

The federal government has no business spending even 1 cent on these programs.

Sadly, Congress will ignore his request and pass a budget that’s even fatter than before.

You mean the Atlanta airport would have to run itself?

PBS and NPR are no longer “commercial free”. They run lots of commercials, and most of them are the exact same “spots” that are run on regular TV. Cars, Insurance Companies, Organizations, Medical facilities, Processed Food, etc, all have their ads on PBS, albeit bunched at the beginning and ends of programs rather than throughout.

Plus they get grants from various Foundations, who ALSO advertise.

Then they have their incessant “Begging Shows” getting ordinary people to donate.

The individual programs, like Sesame Street, have their related products to sell.

They don’t need public funding as well.

A plethora of Americans expressed their dismay at these groups losing their government funding, while others noted the budget’s ability to reduce a portion of America’s national debt.

Meanwhile, the MAJORITY of Americans who voted for Trump noted that these activities were all clearly outside the scope of defined government powers outlined in the Constitution and as a result they should have never existed in the first place!
