Ryan is prepared to rescue Obamacare even if it costs GOP control of the senate and the White House.
The implosion of Obamacare would be blamed on the Reps for failing to take action. The Dems would be introducing all kinds of “fixes” to mend Obamacare, not end it. The MSM would amplify the narrative that the GOP let the system implode hurting millions of Americans just to prove a point. Not good PR especially before the 2018 midterms.
