We drive by a big wind farm in north central Michigan every September on the way to our fishing trip. There are never more then a third of them turning. So I’m not sure why they need more if they aren’t even using all the ones they already have.

The rest of the wind farm units weren’t spinning crazy fast???
If the mill is still generating, I think the work of generating electricity would counteract the inertia.
But maybe generation ceased when everything broke.
