Windmills Tall as Skyscrapers Proposed for Rural Michigan County
Michigan Capitol Confidential ^ | 3/3/2017 | Tom Gantert

Posted on 03/07/2017 8:01:30 AM PST by MichCapCon

A corporation called Apex Clean Energy has proposed building as many as 60 wind turbines in Shiawassee County — some up to 600 feet tall. That is about 20 percent higher than the tallest wind turbines currently in Michigan, which are 494 feet tall. It’s also just about the same height as The Guardian building, which is listed at 495 feet tall, in downtown Detroit.

The expansion of wind farms into many Michigan communities is being driven by a mandate in the state’s utility regulation law.

Not by wise economic decisions.....

Just off the top of my head I thought that ought to be interesting for aircraft navigation.

This windmill energy mandate probably makes as much economic sense as mandating that 5% of Michigan's generated electricity must come from burning methane harvested from cows’ flatulence by Michigan's farmers.

Oops..I should be quiet so I don't give the ‘RATS any ideas.

Throw in the biggest cause: Lying Liars who constantly Lie to get their way. AGW was used to sell this BS and Repubs were right in there leading the way. Upton did his “due diligence” in Congress and got us the crappy lightbulb mandate. The underlying fraud has been exposed that there is no AGW. Wind farms, Solar farms, take your pic - expensive toxic boondoggles that will never deliver. Even the braindead EU countries have figured this out.

That clip always intrigued me. Clearly it’s a hand held camera so the videographer must have know it was going to happen. But, how did they know?

Maybe it was making some sort of noise. Kind of like a bearing going out or something and the person was filming out of curiosity and then edited it down to the catastrophic moment.

Ah, no thank you!

Wind turbines are EXPENSIVE to operate and maintain, especially their penchant for breaking down a lot. I'd rather the spend the money to perfect the liquid fluoride thorium reactor, which uses commonly-found thorium-232 as fuel (thorium is as common as elemental lead!) and produces very little radioactive waste.

Wind power is not as "clean" as you might think, is systemically less efficient, produces far more expensive electricity and is likely to do so for a long time, and can not survive without taxpayer subsidies.
  1. To Get Wind Power You Need Oil
  2. Reliability of Renewable Energy: Wind

  4. Electricity Prices Soaring In Top Wind Power States

IMO, the faster they can build these bird-killing monstrosities, the better.
