As a former Detroiter, why is there always this argument about stadiums? Any Detroit team that wins, possibly deserves a new arena or stadium every 50 years or so but for some reason, taxpayers pay Billions for losing teams like the Lions. I grew up with Tiger Stadium. The Tigers and Lions played there for a hundred years. Then, the hapless Lions moved to the Pontiac Silver Dome. After 30 years or so, they moved to Ford Field. On what grounds could they possibly deserve a new stadium. The last championship the Lions won was in 1957, 8 years before there was even a superbowl!!! Absurd. The worst team in NFL history still in the DEATH GRIP of the Ford family...after 60 years of continuous losing.
