The arrests of hundreds of immigrants last week marked the first large-scale raid under the Trump administration — and the crackdown was, by all indications, just the start of much more to come.
The expansive executive order signed last month by President Donald Trump allows a significantly broader population of immigrants to be picked up for deportation. And Trump has signaled he has every intention of using that authority to carry out his campaign pledge to deport millions of foreigners from the United States.
Immigration advocates say the stepped-up enforcement amounts to a new deportation dragnet that’s ensnaring otherwise law-abiding immigrants.
“In four weeks, we’ve seen three incredibly harsh executive orders targeting the immigrant community,” said Ali Noorani, executive director of the National Immigration Forum. “This is what he campaigned on, and now the country has to deal with the consequences.”
But for Trump, it’s working out just as planned.
“We’re actually taking people that are criminals — very, very hardened criminals in some cases — with a tremendous track record of abuse and problems, and we are getting them out,” Trump said at a news conference Monday with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. “And that’s what I said I would do.”
One of Trump’s top advisers, Stephen Miller, also credited the administration’s new executive order with the “more vigorous immigration enforcement activities,” telling Fox News that Trump has “taken new and greater steps to remove criminal aliens from our communities.”
In a statement Monday, Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly confirmed that more than 680 immigrants were swept up in so-called “targeted enforcement operations” across several cities, including Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, San Antonio and New York City.
About three-fourths of those arrested were immigrants who had been convicted of crimes ranging from homicide, aggravated sexual abuse and drunken driving.

Not true. Immigrants do not get raided or deported... illegal aliens do, there is a HUGE difference. Immigrants are people that went through the immigration process, this is not difficult for normal people to understand.
680 deportations is a teeny tiny number.
My hope is as they are being deported that ALL monies and or services they were getting from state and federal governments is also stopped. AS WELL AS any others in their families or households being checked out and cut off or deported as well - whomever is illegal needs to go, and stop the financial bleeding of our country.
Soon after the election I argued that Trump will deport 5 million illegals in his first year. I still think that is the case.
When E-verify is mandated and those on Public Assistance are cut off, 30+ Million will self deport.

We have 30 million + illegal aliens here.
Once it is clear we are going to enforce the laws, illegal aliens need to be advised that deportation results in a 10 year ban on proper re-entry.
Many can be encouraged to leave on their own if we cut off employment and benefits.
The MSM makes up their own quotes about banning all Muslims, and ignores that we are targeting the extremists. They scream how dare we pick on the countries in which the terrorist are active. The specific countries targeted by their supreme leader, Obama.
Trump promised targeted deportations. The targeting is aimed at the criminal illegal aliens, that have come across our border. It is targeted at those who have already committed crimes against us. But the MSM screams, how dare he target anyone.
The MSM is already beating the drums and chanting that these criminals have served their time, deserve another chance, and that it should be here in the country they entered illegally.
How soon will it be that they will start calling us "Criminalphobias", Alienphobias", or "Immigratphobias". It is straight out of Alinsky's book. They will accusing us of unreasonable fear of those doing violence against us.
All those convicted of a felony should be deported first. That's targeting. Get the illegal criminal aliens out of our country. These individuals revealed exactly what they were when they committed their crimes.
Seal the border against all illegal entry.
The domestic enemies of the USA need a dumbed down population, dependent on them, and susceptible to brainwashing in order to bring in their NWO. Their plan is to allow a huge invasion to give them a permanent majority to destroy American culture.
IN context, the travel ban is only is small part of the big picture. It is no wonder The Prez is not that worried about it. Anyone who comes in can be taken right back out.
