It will be interesting to see a Young Turk movement attempt to wrest power from this thin crust of aging campus radicals who never grew up. The stars of the moment appear to be wearing black and smashing windows, which is hardly the stuff of a stable political party, nor are the two leading candidates for party leadership,
Ellison and Perez, any sign of a big-tent move to the center. Media control has served to mask this hollowing effect, and the "Hillary won the popular vote" meme is a case of outright denial. Hillary was only there because there wasn't anything better, given that they had to import Bernie Sanders from outside the party altogether, whence he has since returned.
There is, of course, the Urban And Corrupt movement, typified by such creatures as Cuomo, Emmanuel, and McAuliffe, none of whom are even slightly in touch with the demographics that cost Hillary her turn at the head of the trough. The Dems have bet the boat on identity politics and divisiveness, and their message has devolved to "we hate your country and we hate your guts, but vote for us anyway." Best of luck with that one.
