The modern theory of Immigration is Universal American Welfare. America owes the entire world a living.
The reason given by the proponents of that theory is that if America did not exist then all the riches of America and of Europe would be uniformly distributed in the rest of the world and the rest of the world would all be comfortably prosperous. To wit: America and Americans have stolen the birthright of the world and hoarded it in Americans' hands for the greedy benefit of Americans and their junior relatives, the Europeans and Australians.
