Heck, they could turn their combustion chamber into a gas engine, use the engine to run a generator to power the spark plug.

Now where have I seen that before? Little combustion chambers, carbonaceous fuel and oxygen, all reliant on spark plugs? Dang that sounds familiar some how.

And what college age male doesn’t like explosions.

Maybe get the muslin community involved. They could blow up pizza parlors and manufacture graphene at the same time, part time work.

“The researchers first stumbled on this production method when they were developing and patenting carbon soot aerosol gels.”

Umm...what the heck are carbon soot aerosol gels used for?

Four gallon container, check
Oxygen, check
Acetylene, check
Spark plug, check

Contained explosion - that sounds like an issue.

Instead of catalytic converters, the addition of a fuel source on a tailpipe chamber and we could produce graphene AND have some awesome flames shooting out the back of the tailpipes at the same time. A twofer.

Why, to spray in the clouds in order to increase global warming, silly!
It can’t happen without anthropogenic contributions, doncha know!

I wouldn’t want to ignite 17 liters of oxygen and acetylene at home. So maybe it isn’t quite for “everyone.”

Graphene is a zero-gap semiconductor, because its conduction and valence bands meet at the Dirac points. The Dirac points are six locations in momentum space, on the edge of the Brillouin zone, divided into two non-equivalent sets of three points. The two sets are labeled K and K'. The sets give graphene a valley degeneracy of gv = 2. By contrast, for traditional semiconductors the primary point of interest is generally Γ, where momentum is zero. Four electronic properties separate it from other condensed matter systems.

Got to be running rich to leave molecular carbon sheets.

Ever set off a perfectly balanced mix of welding gas and oxygen? The containment device must be an awesome piece of hardware if built to withstand a worst case mixing error!

Graphene?

Didn’t she used to dance at Sheri’s Show Bar down on Rte. 97?

Maybe it was Xenette.
