What I’ve always been saying here and on other sites. The liberals and the MSMLSD would scream bloody murder if we did that. Fortunately we have Trump.
Seize all assets of any operation that employes them.
The most basic constructive step is for the 1-9’s that employers must complete for each new hire be filed with the IRS, instead of being housed in the personnel file of the employee at the workplace. That would solve stolen SS# numbers and establish an initial residency based on the information required to complete the form. We have been filling out these forms for 30 years for thousands of employees and they have never been seen by anyone but us. I don’t think the folks in leadership want to solve the problem.
It’s an interesting idea but has great potential to be abused I don’t think anyone trusts the government to administer the program honestly. I envision a whole bunch of leftists organizations and “non-profits” creating phantom jobs and grandfathering in all sorts of “rights” and entitlements for migrants. Then end result will be a massive call for citizenship.
Yeah, this will be part of the solution.
Still need the wall and enforcement.

There was a time when the unemployment office had to fill them out. Doubled our workload overnight.
That is true. These are unintended consequences of what you call “the books”, ie all the massive labor and tax regulations. The reason so many illegals in front of Home Depot can find work that pays way more than minimum wage is because it is so easy to hire them. You make a deal with them and you don’t have to worry about dealing with all the crap that you would need to if you did it “by the books”. Paying payroll taxes, sending out W2’s, record keeping, unemployment insurance, disability insurance, possible discrimination lawsuits, and on and on.
You don’t see unemployed “Americans” standing in front of Home Depot because of our too generous welfare state and culture of entitlement.
Significantly reduce welfare benefits for able bodied people and cut way back on labor and tax regulations, especially for small part time jobs and the influx of illegals would diminish significantly. Still you can’t have an open border because illegals can always undercut the americans. What it would do is reduce the incentive of americans to hire illegals in two ways.
1. it would introduce a pool of legal workers cut off from welfare
2. reduce the hassle and risks of the burdensome regulations
The wall is a good choice. Deploying troops and mines an even better choice.
As much as some people are loath to admit it there is also a culture/race issue here. It is not just about money or being ‘illegal’
I’ve been saying this for so long. If we do two things - (1) prohibit public funds from being spent on welfare, food stamps, education, and pretty much anything else for a person here illegally, and (2) revisit the idea of birthright citizenship to get either a ruling or an amendment that once and for all will show that citizenship is determined by one’s parentage, not by the geographic location in which the birth takes place, then they will not come here. If they do, they will not stay. A wall is not really necessary.
Trump’s been in office barely a week and he’s already preventing Mexicans from crossing the border. El Presidente won’t be coming.
If there was ANY substantiation that the level of LEGAL immigration was far too little with regard to the areas where MOST illegal immigration comes from, the CNBC writer(s) could have an argument.
However, LEGAL immigration from the places most ILLEGAL immigrants come from has over the past decade been higher than anywhere else in the world and higher historically than it has ever been. THAT fact makes mincemeat of the idea that legal immigration from those places is and has been too little, meaning the ILLEGAL immigration from there has no justification, not even in terms of the U.S. needs.
Additionally, we should end ALL programs that allow anyone to buy their way into the U.S. and/or into Green Cards.

The way to end illegal immigration promptly has been obvious to anyone whose spent time talking to recent Mexican immigrants: END MEDICAL, SOCIAL SECURITY, FOOD STAMP FREEBIES to non-American citizens. (Then slowly phase them out for Americans, too!)
Here’s how my grandparents came to America: they landed at Ellis Island and couldn’t get into the country unless a sponsor came forth to guarantee their survival needs.
I blame none of the illegals who took advantage of the handouts America gives them. It’s our own damn fault! Stop paying their Emergency Room bills and stop forcing hospitals to treat them for FREE!
Simply fine hell out of US employers hiring
illegals and the illegals will head on back home.
Next, able bodied welfare recipients would take the
jobs or suffer.
First. End ALL handouts and welfare to illegals.
Second. Mercilessly punish those that employ illegals.
That costs ZERO dollars.
