Anyone have experience buying a car with Carmax?
It’s ok to buy from them. They totally rip you off if you try to sell them a car.
I didn’t realize they were based here in my hometown. No wonder there are 3 or 4 not too far away. So we’re not only the capitol of the Confederacy, we’re the used car Capitol.
CarMax? I thought they were just some internet site where you could go and check on a car’s background, like Kelly Bluebook. Had no idea they were retailers.
We bought a Toyota truck from them in 2005. It’s a 2003 model. Never had a problem with it & it’s still running strong. Would consider buying from them again.
You’re thinking of CarFax. CarMax is a no-haggle national used car dealership chain offering fairly extensive warranties on thoroughly inspected, recent model year vehicles. Price is within reason, all things considered.
That’s CarFax. Different company.
Oh.
#3 & 6 When I bought my car at a dealer the guy just keep coming back to me with the same offer but just changed around the numbers. It still ended up at $8,000 plus tax. Next time I will look at carmax and take my time vs showing up at the dealer and having to go thru their song and dance.
My husband bought 2 used cars through Carmax and both were excellent buys. The no haggle, straightforward descriptions of used cars are very appealing.
Earlier this year, I was looking for a very specific type of vehicle- a pickup with a manual transmission. I was able to search the Carmax website by type of vehicle and feature, and, sitting at my computer, found seven that fit my needs. For a small fee, they moved it several hundred miles for me to test drive it, and I drove it home that day. I love my new truck, and I can’t say when I’ve had a smoother buying experience.
