What a joke. Hey Bill. The last 8 years have been an aggressive attempt to turn America into the Soviet Union. Were you uncomfortable then?

The post takeover scenario sounds more like Hope and Change than MAGA.

Remembering it well. Kristofferson was the lead/hero of the piece.

I’m surprised a Lefty like Kristofferson signed up for it.

Surprised that “politko” didn’t use Kevin Costner in “No Way Out” as a deep cover russian GRU agent who is a US Naval Officer and sleeper, with Gene Hackman as the Sen/Congressman on Armed Forces committee (and presumed conservative) with his sychophantic homo male aide who kills himself. It’s quite a movie... predicated on JUST what the liberals are trying to pin on the “republicans” (not the GOPe/RINOsm oh no— they are in on this paid puff piece for the uniparty beltway bandits, mcain and linda etc)on the “anti-uniparty” Trump revolution.

They wouldn’t dare go there... the “hiding in plain sight”. Times they are a-changing— the “russians” were working for and with the democrats/hitlery— and some would say Seth Rich was killed as set up to meet an “FBI” fake to spill the beans. This subject is NOT over—and the dems are still pushing the meme (despite Comey’s testimony today that the DNC would not let FBI look at their system to determine if they were.... hacked by russians). This is pretty telling.

I vaguely recall watching it. The Soviets come to Kansas and proceed to do everything to the locals that they did to their East European puppet states.

I was twelve when it aired. I thought it would be real science fiction. But instead it was boring as hell.

News of how Russia used hacking to manipulate voting behavior

People who advance this "narrative" are unbelievably condescending. The first premise that they must believe is that Americans are stupid and easily manipulated.

How about two older Made-for-TV from 1968 and 1983! A totalitarian take over of the USA.

SHADOW ON THE LAND (1968) Jackie Cooper,
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0063589/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_36

From the novel IT CAN’T HAPPEN HERE by Sinclair Lewis.

Television

“A 1968 television movie Shadow on the Land (alternate title: United States: It Can’t Happen Here) was produced by Screen Gems as a pilot for a series loosely based on this book.

Inspired by the book, director–producer Kenneth Johnson wrote an adaptation titled Storm Warnings in 1982. The script was presented to NBC for production as a television miniseries, but NBC executives rejected the initial version, claiming it was too cerebral for the average American viewer.

To make the script more marketable, the American fascists were re-cast as man-eating extraterrestrials, taking the story into the realm of science fiction. The revised story became the miniseries V, which premiered May 3, 1983.”[9]

years ago, I bought the paperback adaptation of the miniseries.

To my young brain it appeared the Soviets were hemorrhaging money in their occupation of the US and were desperate to emplace their toadies in places of power ASAP so they could GTFO.

Bad writing all around and a pithy take on both communism and the free market we hold so dear.
