There is an old saying that "Countries do not have friends; they have interests."
I suspect that many (most) figures in the media don't really have an ideology. If a black Progressive is in the White House, Piers will support him come hell or high water. If a NYC Real Estate guy ends up in the White House and wants to drain the swamp, Piers will support him come hell or high water.
He's a boot-licker.
Note that some folks (Andrea Mitchell) only know how to lick the Left boot, but some of them (Piers) are capable of shifting from Left to Right if the need arises.

indeed. this isn’t the first time he’s written cogently from a conservative viewpoint recently. probably has something to to do with the fact that he’s writing for the Daily Mail and not CNN, and that perhaps he’s just a pundit for hire at-large, and not necessarily an uber-liberal. Or maybe he’s just good at faking it for money.
Whatever the case, I’ve seen several well-written, cutting articles like this one from Piers from a conservative viewpoint.
