Hmm, this looks like another monster that needs to be slain in the name of liberty.
It seems that this principle is strong in California: any attempts to build are stymied by “environmental” lawsuits designed to make it prohibitively expensive to build. Then, when property prices increase, the state legislature makes a legal requirement for developers to build a certain percentage of “affordable housing” whenever they do get permission to build on land. Yet housing would be affordable if it weren’t so cost-prohibitive to build in the first place.
California is both decaying and becoming prohibitively expensive to live in.
Florida, on the other hand, seems to be booming. We went there for a holiday vacation and saw plenty of building going on, plenty of affordable houses for sale. I’m tempted to retire there in a few years.
Obviously, this “reflexive law”—enforcement of bullies’ desires that have no basis in real law—needs to be disappeared. But how do we do that?
OUTSTANDING post. Thanks. HOORAY Patrick Wood. Thank you, sir. Tactics of Totalitarians. DEFUND NGOs. DISREGARD/DISMANTLE/DESTROY their collectives (foreign and domestic) as necessary.
Enemies domestic ALERT!
Shame, shame, shame. It goes both ways, and the left is in real need of an eternal shaming. Might take awhile, but will be worth the wait.
