To accept the concept of legitimacy for Donald Trump in a mind that is steeped in leftist dogma would cause Cognitive Dissonance, a very painful experience. I doubt that many of “our friends on the left” will allow themselves to go through that.

Liberals are not capable of accepting anything that does not agree with their world view, wants, needs or desires. They are like little children: They only know that they either want something to be so or not.
To wit, they create or report fake “hate crimes” where none exist. They make up false facts to justify their actions, statements and beliefs. They live in a fantasy world. They sit around in their coffee shops, offices and living rooms surrounded by other like-minded nut jobs mentally masturbating and constantly reassuring each other that the next time a comet flies past the Earth, there will in fact be an alien space ship hiding in its tail, and this time it will in fact take them to the liberal utopia they so desperately seek. But until that happens, they are compelled to force the rest of us to think, eat, drink, worship, procreate, work and live they way they want us to.
