Krauthammer: Schumer A Sore Loser, The Tweets Are Working; "Trump Wielding A Two-By-Four"
Real Clear Politics ^ | January 3, 2017 | Ian Schwartz

Charles Krauthammer reacts to newly-minted Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) remarking "making America great again" requires more than a tweet from President-elect Trump.

BRET BAIER: On the Senate side, the top Democrat there, Chuck Schumer, took to the floor for his first speech talking about the president-elect's communication.

SENATE MINORITY LEADER CHUCK SCHUMER: These issues are too important for mere words. Our challenge is too entrenched for mere tweeting. Making America great again requires more than 140 characters per issue. With all due respect, America cannot afford a Twitter presidency.

BAIER: Charles.

CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: Sore loser. The tweets are working. I mean if they weren't, they wouldn't be using them. As Chuck [Lane] indicated, Trump has used it on North Korea, he's used it on Ford, on General Motors, on this issue, which he won within hours. It works. It has a lot of effect. And he's not even in office. I think when he is in office, it will be a little more problematic because people will be presuming policy out of this, and it's hard to be -- it's hard to be either detailed or specific enough in a tweet to actually make coherent policies....

Have you noticed how many of his opponents and erstwhile "allies" want him to quit using Twitter?

I’ve noticed that AND how some #NeverTrump guys like Krauthammer have slyly jumped on board the Trump train.

It is good to see that Charles the Hammer has seen the light. (Sort of)

I want Trump to be a success, yet I too want to curtail his use of Twitter.

He’s amassing a great team, and his team must get a heads up on the bosses direction. A 4am tweet doesn’t give the team any notice about his intentions, and the morning press will eat them alive if they aren’t aligned with the boss.

He’s a genius. Charles is right, when sworn in he can’t be this loose and specific. It will need a bit more finesse, but still keep the 2x4 at the ready.

He’s establishing some street rep here. Willing to take ‘it’ to the asphalt. The media is just seething over this. They have very little control over the political agenda left. Their desperation is palpable.

How this man is still alive is amazing.

Charles also said Twitter won’t work for Trump when he’s in the White House. He always has to throw in a monkey wrench. Kraut hasn’t been right much lately.

“I want Trump to be a success, yet I too want to curtail his use of Twitter.”

Is that because you were all to happy with the way that the game was played befor Trump where the far-left could play “Heads I win, tails you lose!” my fine Freeper friend?

Trump seems to have a new fan in Krauthammer. A lot of the #NeverTrump types are starting to realize that Trump, with his out-of-the-box thinking, can accomplish many of the positive goals that the Bushes and McCains and Romneys never could have achieved.

Gee, maybe these elitists will start giving ordinary voters a little credit for knowing what we are doing.

If anything goes wrong in the Trump admin the Kraut will be the first one to abandon ship.

Trump should and will use Twitter whenever he pleases. His track record so far has been spectacular. Sean Spicer said they will be using social media in new ways never seen before.

Trump owns the press/media. He can do whatever he wants. He is still winning.

With an audience of 40 million he would be stupid not to continue using it. The most powerful political tool on the planet.

Can someone explain the etymology of “Krauthammer”. Google Translate tells me that Kraut translates to herb or cabbage. And the German Hammer translates to, well, hammer.

Does Charles’s last name really translate to “cabbage hammer”? What’s up with this?

A 4am tweet doesn’t give the team any notice about his intentions, and the morning press will eat them alive if they aren’t aligned with the boss.

The days of the MSM eating anyone alive are quickly coming to an end. Their credibility is shot and Trump has shown politicians how to speak directly to the people without the controlled media's filter distorting the message.

Trump's team's job is now to keep up with, support and extend their boss's policy statements as they are delivered out to the public, not to try to refute the MSM's lies. The MSM may not realize it yet, but they are no longer deciding factors in our political conversations.

I agree with both of you - and I suspect Trump does, too. Like every successful executive, Donald Trump is skilled at charting a clear course, selected competent subordinate leaders, and delegating his authority. Trump knows how to lead, inspire and let people do their jobs. He is in charge and will wield his proven 2x4 whenever it is needed, but I suspect he will run a well-organized and purposeful administration. That's what good executives do.

You’re presuming that his team is unaware of what he’s going to put out before he does so. I wouldn’t be so sure that’s the case. What may appear to be a spur of the moment tweet could easily have been planned in advance.
