What did DH carry? 44 magnum I think? It will knock’em down just fine. I have a Ruger Blackhawk 30 cal carbine 7 1/2” barrel with a scope on it that I keep laying in the seat of my pickup when driving around the lease. I was on a lease down near Langtry, Tx several years ago and there were a bunch ofJavelinas on it. So, came up on one while riding around one afternoon. Stopped and shot him right between the eyes. He squealed, shook his head and ran off in the brush. Lesson learned; 30 cal carbine round wasn’t up to the job.
Harry carried a model 29 $+W. I had a Universal M1 Carbine that was great fun with a pair of 30 round magazines taped together, but the ammo was pricey, $8 a box of 50 at the gun shows. Rock and roll!
