The article says the Battalion was commanded by a Captain.
That sounds odd to me.
Also, it sounds like the Captain (the Battalion C.O.) and her driver exited the camp perimeter - completely alone.
That sounds even more odd.
Actually, the title should more accurately read “God and Female IDF soldier fights off terrorist attack”
She is not in charge of as many soldiers
and she was not in a combat zone .(the IDF does not put women in combat zones, they found out it doesn’t work as well as the liberals insist it does)
She was very brave though.
Post of the year
In general, the IDF are some serious and tough mothers. Both the men and the women.
My unit trained with the Sayeret Matkal (sp?) of the IDF and they were a fine group of soldiers, we had full confidence they would have our six. And we learned a lot too. And not one arrogant bastard in their unit.
Cool!
I re-read the article and it also says the female captain was in charge of a Company (which makes sense).
Perhaps the reference to being in charge of a Battalion was just an error by the author.
As to the IDF not putting women in combat zones, the article map shows she was located on the Sinai border with Egypt.
Since the Egyptian military has been fighting anti-government terrorists in that region for about two years, I'm surprised to hear the IDF does not consider that area to be a “combat zone.”
