Evangelical Leader Tony Perkins Slams Tillerson Pick For State By BRENT GRIFFITHS 12/12/16 Social conservative leader Tony Perkins is sounding the alarm over the possibility that Rex Tillerson, CEO of ExxonMobil, will become secretary of state, after previously criticizing the notion that Mitt Romney might be the nation’s top diplomat.
“Trump calls Rex a 'world class player and deal-maker,' but if these are the kinds of deals Tillerson makes — sending dollars to an abortion business that's just been referred for criminal prosecution and risking the well-being of young boys under his charge in an attempt to placate radical homosexual activists — then who knows what sort of 'diplomacy' he would champion at DOS?” Perkins wrote on the Family Research Council’s website, where he serves as president.
Perkins was referring to Planned Parenthood, whose health services for women include abortion. Religious activists have accused ExxonMobil of donating to the organization, but the company has said it merely matched employees' charitable gifts as part of a corporationwide policy.

Perkins has a point. I don’t think Hillary would have appointed any Pro-Lifer to any cabinet position must less a Secretary of State.
Three words: Secretary of State.
Not Church Secretary
Not Secretary of Pastoral Care.
Hillary would not have appointed a pro-lifer and an anti-gay to ANY position in her cabinet or staff.
Let’s not try to defend any and all of Trump’s appointees.

Trumps administration is banking on Petro-diplomacy. Thus his SoS pick.
If you think about it, it seems it particularly targets mid east diplomacy.
Backed by Ex-Military Generals running key critical defense positions in the cabinet and advisors.
We’ve seen by Trumps picks and style he’s not one for patronage. Some very faithfull supporters have not won positions in the administration — such as Gingrich, Giuliani, Christie. So I assume he sees something very strategic to his vision of U.S global leadership.
This could garner more Dem support.
SoS doesn’t make policy, he implements the President’s policy.
Trump has said he will STOP ALL government funding to PP, so what the HELL difference does it make to Perkins what the heck happened at Exon!!! Evangelicals should be EXTREMELY HAPPY their tax dollars will no longer fund PP!!!
Who cares what Hillary would or would not have done. She and her antics are irrelevant.
Tillerson is Trump’s choice, warts and all. He’s the best man for the job. Get on the Trump train or join McCain and the opposition by default.
This is war and Trump is our General. If we lose this, we will lose it all. Have we already forgotten what Obama is. We must hang together and avoid nitpicking if we want to see our republic survive.
I’m impressed by Trump’s sense of strategy, to date. Energy. Produced and either consumed locally or exported. Very little Intellectual Property or anything else that has been handed over. I respect what he’s doing, so far. Would like to hear and consider opposing views. I always miss something, and there’s a lot of smart people on this board.
