This is how the mainstream media would report on the Russian Revolution today ...
“Armed men roamed the streets of Russian cities with random acts of violence and in some instances taking over buildings, some of them possibly having some connection to the government. It is not known what role the firebrand V. Lenin may have played, if any, nor is it clear whether this has anything to do with the obscure German philosopher Karl Marx, who was not always supportive of all established governments. Sources who did not wish to be named said there might be a few more scattered outbreaks of disorder in the months ahead but expected that no clear trends would emerge.”
It began with a general denunciation of violence against Muslims everywhere, then referenced specifically the Rohingya Muslim community in Burma, who have been long-persecuted and are denied citizenship and basic rights. While the struggles of the Rohingya Muslims receive little publicity in the U.S., their situation has attracted more attention in recent weeks, as the Posts Annie Gowen reported. Thousands of them have been fleeing into the forests and neighboring Bangladesh on the heels of a brutal military crackdown that followed a terrorist attack on police posts Oct. 9, allegedly carried out by Rohingya militants.
