Agreed. I’ll continue to buy used American cars after my two bite the dust.

I have a 2000 VW Golf with 40K miles on her(!) and a 2008 Ford Escape XL with 70K on her. I inherited the VW from my Dad and I paid cash for the Escape.

I’m 56. Baring a deer accident or an illegal crashing into me, I’m pretty sure I’m set. ;)
