Be afraid, fellow liberals! Be very afraid!
If you can define something by giving an example, this story from the Washington Post just might serve as your quintessential definition-by-example of irony. In an attempt to convince everyone that fake news and the Russians somehow rigged the election in favor of Donald Trump, the Post has served up a story so absurd and unintentionally hilarious, its almost as if they wrote their own fake news to help us recognize the genre.
Its true. The venerable voice of the establishment actually published this (bolded passages by me):
The left never lets go of anything.
They’ve pushed this whole notion of America as a democracy they simply cannot understand the beauty of the Electoral system. Or maybe they do....
Trump should simply assert that Billy Bush and Access Hollywood are Russian operatives. If that surreptitious recording of a private conversation was worth airing ad nauseam, what was so sacrosanct about Podestas hacked emails???
The leftist and their globalist masters really want a war with Russia.
They call RT “fake news” yet they have 100 times more coverage of world events than all the US news networks combined. They have actual on the ground reporting of conflicts all over the world, while our media never even reports on what our own soldiers are doing. When did you last see a live report from Afghanistan on any US network?
Eagerly awaiting RT’s “ground reporting” about Russian soldiers in Syria in the same vein . . . anti-Russian, that is.
I believe their live reports a lot more than the pablum of lies from out state department. Somehow supporting Al Qaeda jihadists is going to create a better regime in Syria? Really? How about our “ally” Turkey grabbing Syrian territory and attacking our Kurdish allies? Where is the left stream media reporting on any of that?
Did the MSM report on massive riots against Obama on his visit to Greece, with thousands of rioters attacking police with Molotov cocktails? Crickets.
And that’s the problem: you believe one over the other, when both are the same.
What they’re really saying is:
“We miss our media monopoly and now we pledge to return to it.”
Don’t think I believe everything on RT either. But you don’t know what you don’t know. I’d rather hear both sides and decide for myself.
“We learned our lesson from the election: we need to learn to lie better.”
The veracity of this report is attested to by Brian Williams, Jayson Blair and Janet Cooke. How could it not be true?
