Hmmmmmm....enemies close?
Obviously, most political observers have heard the rumor that Mitt Romney was in the running to become President Donald Trump’s Secretary of State. Until yesterday, however, it was just that - a rumor. There were stories about meetings, deals, and discussions, but nothing concrete.
Then, Vice President-elect Mike Pence appeared on “Face the Nation.” It’s a “rumor” no more.

I don’t think Mitt will ever get the gig. Trump just wants to show how open minded and “fair” he’s being in his considerations.
Ugh.
I just don’t see how DJT could ever trust Mittens. He’s a snake in the grass waiting to bite. I give Trump credit for even being willing to talk to him but I personally don’t want to see him in the administration. Maybe I’m too small minded.
The “two-time” looser called Trump a “fraud”.....I give Trump credit for being in the same room with him...but, no thank you.
I haven’t seen or heard TRUMP say this, and until I do, it’s media hog wash!!!

Seriously, I think Romney might do a decent job. FDR picked Joe Kennedy to create the SEC. He was a huge crook and knew all the holes that needed to be covered. Other than being a pitiful cross-the-aisle Republican Mitt has few negatives for the SOS job. He is a patriotic American. It has been a few years since one of those occupied the position.
Though, I'd not be surprised to see Romney get some sort of a post, maybe an ambassadorship, or something. Takes him out of play for 2020, I'm sure that the GOPe would love to run him.
No need to trust him. Presidents have used the Secretary of State position to neutralize enemies for a long time. Nixon appointed Kissinger, Bush appointed Powell, Obama appointed Hillary, etc.
HELL NO!!! If willy gets an appt....what’s next? Jeb Bush, Hillary Clinton?

Mormons are soft on islam, and soft on Third World immigration. That is why Utah was at least a bit in play in this election, even though it finally went Red.
Oh, I agree. Mitt could do the job. And Hillary left the place in such a shambles, there probably is a need for a turn around artist like Mitt.
He’s got the right demeanor for the top diplomat.
All of that said, I hate the whole idea.
Remember that Mitt will be there to carry out president-elect THE DONALD’s policy and vision. There is something quite special about that!! ;D. If Mitt doesn’t comply with that. He will not be around long.

I’ll let Donald Trump handle the government for now. I did see a small crow feather on Mitt Romney’s chin when he came out of Trump International. ;-)
Say that Trump did select Romney, where would that leave Rudy Giuliani? He’s made no secret that he wants the job. Attorney General is filled. He wouldn’t be placated with a minor post like Commerce or Homeland Security. It would basically leave him out in the cold, in spite of all the support and loyalty he’s shown to Trump. Trump isn’t the kind of man to do that, and that’s why at the end of the day it’ll be Giuliani as Secretary of State.
Other than the 2002 Olympics, what foreign experience does Romney bring?
