We are likely to tariff ourselves into a massive trade war and depression.

Message to Gen. Forrest: WE ARE IN A MASSIVE TRADE WAR AND DEPRESSION. Start fighting back!

American industry’s biggest enemy is in Washington, DC ... not Beijing or Tokyo. Proper targeting matters.

Where an importer is improperly subsidizing its exports to the United States we should invoke all remedies and, as a last resort, tariffs to defend American industry against dumping etc.

But a reflex that a tariff is just wonderful without knowing more is a recipe for global chaos.

You’re in a massive trade deficit because your Government has punished wealth production by every conceivable means.

Imposing tariffs would be the last act of insanity: growing government, impoverishing efficient producers and featherbedding incompetent ones.

A tax on money sent by illegals back to Mexico - I can get behind that. We all can. But any other taxes would depress legitimate wealth creation.

President Trump needs to break the barriers to wealth production, not raise new ones.

Corporate tax rates. Crippling environmental law. Ludicrous legal vulnerability. Anticompetitive legislation dreamt up by lobbyists. It all needs to go.

You are correct

We have been in a Trade War for the last twenty years and our manufacturing infrastructure has been decimated.

We actually have surprisingly little to lose, even in a Smoot Hawley type scenario

Our trading partners have everything to lose and China is no position to start a trade war with us

This will not be the case 5-10 years down the road of we keep going the way we are going.

If we don't correct now, the future is lost for this country
