No, they are not.
Dr. Carson said he was going home. (Meaning he as going off the trail for a few days to refresh.) Most of the networks simply reported the statement. but CNN interpreted it to mean that Carson was dropping out.
Cruz’s people — and Rubio’s — sent their coordinators that report. By the time CNN corrected it, the voting was underway.
Those are the facts of the matter.
Uh, I guess you weren’t on Twitter when it was going down. I’m sure I can dig up the tweets disproving the Cruz campaign lies about it if you give me a few days.
Two weeks before the caucuses, Ted Cruz’s campaign found out that most Carson supporters second choice was Ted Cruz. IIRC, Amanda Carpenter hatched the idea to spread the rumor that Carson was dropping out. The memos about it were ready to go BEFORE the night of the caucus. Carpenter orchestrated the misdirecting with CNN. Without this dirty trick Trump would have won Iowa.
Belief trumps facts on this point. Cruz’s people did their jobs and then corrected themselves to the voters when they found out otherwise. I also read that Rubio’s and Trump’s people did the same but the mention of Trump was scrubbed and the one Rubio tweeter took personal responsibility which somehow removed responsibility from the rest of Rubio’s team. From now on, screencaps will be better employed during the election season.
CNN = ‘Oh, Mandy’.
