> “modestly reduce their standard of living”

It won’t be modest. It will be a shocking catastrophic drop.

It will be the proletariat on welfare, highly dissatisfied, angry and seeking to escape.

The 2nd Amendment will go underground and those elites you refer to will be picked off one by one.

Automation and offshoring HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH EACH OTHER. By all means automate factories JUST MAKE SURE THE FACTORY

STAYS IN THE USA.

Only an idiot fails to see the difference. And you keep bringing it up like there is no difference.

70,000 factories didn't close because of automation.

We completely agree.

I explicitly said that offshoring was “yesterday's problem.”

I explicitly said that automation is “tomorrow's problem.”

They have nothing to do with each other

Re: “By all means automate factories JUST MAKE SURE THE FACTORY STAYS IN THE USA.”

Where else would it be?

Why would anyone automate a factory in China, then ship the goods 7,000 miles to America?

Automation, robotics, and advanced business and engineering software will equalize the cost of production in every country in the world.

The USA had 20 million manufacturing employees in 1979.

We have 12 million in 2016.

Adjusted for inflation, those 12 million employees produced THREE TIMES more value in 2016 than 20 million employees produced in 1979!

In other words, USA manufacturing productivity has increased 4% per year for the last 37 years.

In other words, the productivity of each USA manufacturing employee doubles every 18 years.

No matter how many factories Trump brings back to the USA, almost none of them will pay a union wage, and total manufacturing employment will never go over 14 million again.

Re: “It won’t be modest. It will be a shocking catastrophic drop.”

Completely disagree.

Wage savings will go directly to the bottom line for business owners.

Those profits will be taxed as income, dividends, or capital gains, then redistributed as public assistance or a guaranteed wage.

I'm an old guy who essentially went bust in the Great Recession of 2008.

I retired and live very comfortably on less than $2,000 a month.

Small studio apartment in an affluent, safe neighborhood. Quiet neighbors. Walking distance to three grocery stores and an upscale mall. Can't afford a car, but walking distance to the Transit Center. Can't afford to travel, but I have reliable Internet and cable connections. Cheap land line phone instead of cellular.

If someone had offered me this option 50 years ago, I would have signed the contract!

You are very naive.

It is not new. It is Soviet style communism. Ask any person that experienced that sh*t and they will tell you to f*ck off.

It ain’t going to happen.

I think the idle mind is the Devils playground. We were designed to work.

I also believe the elites want to cull the herd until we fit into their zoo.

The fear of the NeverTrumpers is that a victorious Trump will get to pick who he regards as being “true” voices of conservatism, and THEY will not be on his list.

This is really a war between nationalists and globalists.

The nationalist is a person who regards the welfare of people who are members of his nation, as being more important than the welfare of people NOT of his nation. Period.

Thus, keeping American citizens employed and safe is more important than accepting “refugees”.

I COMPLETELY agree.

Both parties have been completely taken over by globalists. Both of them.

Except for this year. Trump you have been a valiant champion of American workers.

Hope very much, you win.

So what we need our factories back. No modern military power wasn’t also an industrial power.

IIRC, UN Agenda 21 calls for Earth's population to be reduced by 85%. Culling the herd is quite correct.

True but they are not our worse enemy, we are. The rampant use of abortifacient birth-control, by allegedly pro-life evangelical conservatives is doing the job handily.

Re: “So what we need our factories back. No modern military power wasn’t also an industrial power.”

We are still an industrial power.

USA industrial employees are the most productive in the world.

China has 100 million industrial workers.

The USA produces almost as much as China each year, but we have only 12 million industrial workers!

The argument I am making has not changed...

If Trump cancels every Trade Treaty we have ever signed, the number of industrial jobs in America will increase only slightly, and almost none of those new jobs will be high paying union jobs.

I mean, what foreign country is going to buy goods made in the USA if we refuse to buy goods made in their country?

This is stupid. There are so many things the the USA doesn't make anymore electronics and tires for example. The electronics industry is non existent and we do not make enough tires to support the military. We make enough steel to build 10 ships a year but what about when we need make 10 ships a week?

Free Traitors™ are so full of Shiitake I hope they get a clue one day and become Americans again.

You can be a Nationalist Patriot or a Globalist Free Traitor. But not both at the same time.
