Is Obamacare really affordable? Not for the middle class
CNN Money ^ | November 4, 2016 | Tami Luhby

Obamacare is now a tale of two health insurance programs.

For the 85% of enrollees with lower incomes, federal subsidies make the premiums somewhat more affordable. Those even closer to the poverty line can get additional subsidies that reduce the deductibles, which can run into the thousands of dollars.

But for many middle class Americans -- a single person earning more than $47,520 or a family of four with an income of $97,200 -- the pricey premiums and deductibles mean health care coverage remains out of reach.

"The middle class are getting squeezed," said Larry Levitt, senior vice president at the Kaiser Family Foundation. "They aren't getting subsidies and these deductibles are hard to afford."

This schism is turning Obamacare into another government benefit program for lower- and moderate-income Americans....

I give it a max of eighteen months before the crash starts to occur and it becomes a 24-hour-a-day news item with the Senate occupied with fixing this for weeks and weeks. The first line of this repair should state that the 2,000 pages of ObamaCare should be deleted entirely. The new deal? It should be no more than 40 pages and able to be read by 5th grade kids.

The middle class has been seriously abused.

He took away their jobs.
He took away their homes.
He took away their health care.

He's going to go after those "golden" retirement years if he can

Obamacare is a winning issue for Trump. I’m glad he’s been hitting it hard. The timing could not be better.

The Dems really played themselves.

Obamacare, from the point of view of We the People, is quite simply the worst pice of legislation ever enacted. It kills jobs in that more people are shifted to part-time and small firms stay under 50 employees to avoid the requirements. Meanwhile, it causes deductibles to skyrocket. Yes people have coverage, but no one gets medical care. Way to go Dems! As I’ve said before, they should all be tarred and feathered! And the biggest insult of all - they exempted themselves from it! Bastards!

The middle class?

The middle class is not supposed to exist. It stands in the way of Progress.

The goal is a classless society.

Which is to say, there should be only two classes: the nomenklatura and the proletariat.

If you don’t know which class you are in, you are in the proletariat!

This premium talk is bulls**t.

The cost of the programs need to include all of deductibles and out of pocket expenses for this is what will sink the middle class since they have assets.

The one thing that does not get discussed or a lot of press is that the way that the system is designed.

There is not a lot of money left in America, the underclass is financially impoverished. The middle class is shrinking and the upper classes don’t participate.

There is, however a large pool of assets in the middle class and some in the lower and underclass that can be grabbed.

The way this system works is that the medical industrial complex works with the insurance complex and the overreaching government to set price points.
Price points on how much the medical industrial complex charges, and price points on how much the insurance charges. The government is the enforcer.

Insurance price points include the asset busting deductibles.

As insurance price points increase, and medical costs increase, and the government continues to say who gets what, the middle class can no longer afford insurance and they are dumped into Medicaid.

Medicaid pays everything, but is not free but instead dissolves assets to keep the whole ball going.

Anyone with assets this country who cannot bow out of the system will be getting robbed.

Don’t even want to talk about. No way can most people afford it. Tried but the coverage that you can afford isnt worth the paper it’s written on unless you have a really serious medical condition and even then it will leave a vast part of the bill unpaid.

You forgot savings and food. Reitirement or death. Take your pick.

He needs to pay. He really does. And I'm referring to God's justice, not Man's.

A couple nights ago I specifically saw El Presidente tell the crowd that the premiums for Obamacare had gone down , for the folks getting tax credits, just going up for the others.

Wait a minute!!
The ‘others’ are the middle class, the people paying most of the taxes. You and me.
The people getting tax credits are the welfare recipients.
