Any such facility would open your ballot to hackers and tampering, unfortunately.
I am a computer software engineer,
I could write a system that allowed voting with verification online
why can’t they?
(Rhetorical- I know they answer... because they don’t wantt to)
No freaking way!!! If you can check your ballot, so can your boss, your union, your guberment employer. Touch screen voting machines should be outlawed. Mark sense ballots are easily counted and recounted, should be universally used. Keep secret elections secret.
Votes are tallied using software developed by Soros. He not only owns the voting machines, he controls the counting machines. Soros has stated that Trump’s impending majority victory will be squelched by Hillary’s Electoral College majority. He should know. He is doing the counting.
I've seen a number of people asking for the ability to confirm their vote was recorded properly.
It sounds good, but there's a problem. And that problem is the reason why at least some states prohibit the issuance of a receipt or any other way to verify your vote was recorded in a certain way.
The problem: evidence of a vote can be used to suborn someone into voting a certain way. An example: a union official requires every member to go and vote for the Democrat, and show him the receipt -- or that member doesn't get any more jobs at the union hall.
I'm sure you can come up with other scenarios involving employer/employee or family members.
There have been proposals for open source voting systems that provide paper ballots that can be verified for accuracy at the time of voting:
But, I don't think you want something that can be verified afterwards, after the vote is cast. The opportunity for abuse is huge.
In a world with computers, we should be able to submit a ballot vote with a picture and at the same time be cross checked for registration legality. It really should be that simple.
Here are the phone numbers (for each state) to report election fraud:

This could be hacked to. Perhaps it could be coded in such a way or there is a separate database for audits to show the original vote of the user and not the counted vote... Just saying it can be a possibility.
Vote verification would lead to employer/union thuggery: “How did you vote? Show us!”
Paper ballots.
Paper ballots + bloackchain
Somehow there's a solution. Because there isn't, the only explanation is that the corrupt politicians want it this way. They are scum.
First though, all voters must have an ID. Perhaps a constitutional amendment is needed. It's outrageous that the most important act of a citizen does not require verification of citizenship.
