Letter: Mainstream media shows bias toward Clinton
The Republic ^ | Oct. 21, 2016 | By Staff Reports - Arnold Krauss

This is the first time in my lifetime that I have seen the major media, both print and video, supporting one candidate and doing everything possible to defeat the other. It’s been evident that the mainstream media is another arm of the Democratic Party and White House. The media has spent four-plus hours on Trump’s NBC tape of “locker room talk” 11 years ago to distract the Trump supporters. Yet it has spent zero time covering WikiLeaks’ seventh batch of Clinton’s email dump of around 9,000 that confirms everything she has been accused of doing.

It’s time the voters become informed and vote for a candidate with real solutions to the country’s problems and puts our citizens and country first, not their own interest or how they can benefit. Truly “Make America Great Again.”

I guess there are a few people out there who figured it out.

There is only one effective thing to do: be sure to get out and VOTE for Trump.

Isn’t The Republic a left wing rag?
If so, WOW.

The MSM has been the PR department of the DNC for decades.

I think you’re thinking of The New Republic.

Not familiar with this publication at all.

On CNN this morning (my mom watches it at assisted living)
the media talking heads were going on about “Where do people
get the idea that the media is biased....TRUMP~!. Dan
Rathner was on and said the media is fair and balanced
and anyone who doesn’t believe that is mentally ill.

Made me sick.
Oh Divine Providence, we beseech thee protect our beloved
nation from further democrat “victories”, and bring the
usurpers to eternal justice. Amen.

lol

1980—man—We were there. It was ugly!

I lived in California back then and I was _certain_ Reagan was going to lose by 6 or 7 points, just like the polling said.

When they called it for Reagan at 8:30pm Eastern (5:30pm CA time) I couldn’t believe it.

The Republic is Columbus, IN's newspaper. Columbus is about 40 miles south of downtown Indy.

I have to disagree; while I remember the press favoring Carter over Ford, the country was a very different place 40 years ago. We were just showing a recording of School House Rock (originally played on Saturday mornings in those days) to our little peanut, and the patriotism made me and my wife both cry.

Yes, the bias is blatant, but so many young people lack the mental tools to see it. The comparisons of this election to the 1980 one are so tempting to those of us who remember. The fear of being misled into false hope by these memories, of seeing history repeated badly, makes us even more determined to vote and get out the vote.

Someone is either very young or hasn't been paying attention. The author needs to look up Dan Rather.
