What The Pundits Missed In The Debate
American Greatness ^ | 09/27/2016 | Chris Buskirk

Voters got it. But the pundits - who generally want to score a presidential debate like a high school debate tournament - missed it There is much more going on in a debate than just the rhetorical thrust and parry and the mastery of policy details A presidential debate is also a job interview, an unspoken conversation between the candidates and the American people about trust, strength, compatibility, and more. These things are hard to quantify, particularly for a pundit class that often misses the forest for the trees.

The smug, snarky look on Hitlery’s face was enough to make one vomit! Proof that she is Evil inside and out.

Yep I agree.

And you could see that in polls and media. Most polling shows that Trump bested Hillary in this debate, whereas the mainstream media were all celebrating Hillary’s grand night.

Pickles Pneumonia radiates insincerity like the Chernobyl of politicians. She is the most off-putting human being on the planet.

From the article: It’s true that Trump missed opportunities to land some haymakers during the debate

Hillary was sticking her chin out hoping to rile Trump enough that he would throw a hay-maker...and show himself to be the bully Hillary has accused him of being.

He didn't take the bait.

And that reflected negatively on Hillary. It called into question her truthfulness in calling Trump a bully. If he were a bully, wouldn't he have landed a hay-maker when the opportunity presented itself.

Trump is twice as smart as Hillary in all the ways that matter.

Just a little over a month to go...MAGA.

I thought Hillary knocked it out of the park in terms of articulating her thoughts. Donald seemed flummoxed and unable to connect thoughts coherently, jumping from one phrase to the next. That’s because he has so many new, exciting ideas he can’t wait to put them into practice. It’s fun to watch the experts melt down over Trump. Hope he wins by the biggest landslide ever just to shove it down the throats of the elite.

And she doesn’t normally smile so much. Sheesh, she looked like the Cheshire cat. And it was a fake smile not a natural smile.

Yes, and many Freepers didn't get it also.

This is about appearance, not about 'scoring points'.

Trump passed the eye test.

Trump destroyed Hillary

All the online polls showed Trump won in landslide fashion

Undecideds going for Trump 3:1 after the debate.

That’s a good article. Did you write it?

I’d add one tidbit to it (though it ended up being longer than I thought, I tend to rant). The media write the news. So they will judge the debate by who parrots the media. Of course, media is far too incestuous with the establishment politicians and they all too often publish what the establishment tells them the story is. Not just out of bias, but also because of access. They spin the establishment story as much out of fear of losing the next story as much as because they serve to protect the establishment.

Hence when the media repeats the talking points handed down from the press rooms telling us that the economy is great, jobs are rebounding, people are doing better, they score the candidate who spits this back out on the debate stage higher for being ‘better prepared’ and ‘well versed in the facts’. But of course the American people know better what is happening in their own lives and the lives of their friends, family, neighbors. They see the 20-somethings (and 40-somethings!) moving back in with their parents. They see their take home pay dwindling. They know that 2 part time service jobs are not as good as one full time career. And the ill-conceived, unsustainable and unwanted Obamacare premium/deductible hikes are eating through a huge portion of what used to be their discretionary spending and savings. Life is harder for far too many and more than ever it is easy to see that this time these hardships truly are the fault of an obtuse, selfish class of politicians and bureaucrats who exempt themselves from the folly that is their governance.

And this, just on economic issues. On security, border, race relations, law and order... the establishment has made a great miscalculation thinking that the American people would support their doubling down on the status quo.

Hillary fired off all her ammo and shot blanks.

Trump can unload his arsenal at the next debate.

What the media missed was how brilliant Trump was and how he clearly out-classed Hitlery. He was poised and confident. She seemed confused and was able to provide much in the way of detail. Trump laid out a very coherent and detailed agenda. The man has a remarkable mind. The pneumonia queen looked like she could barely stand (did you see the way she was clutching that podium?), let alone think straight. Her dementia was obvious for all to see.

You know someone should tell Trump to get on the part of the elite politicians exempting themselves from some laws, they are o different than any other American and should always live under the laws that they create.

And keep in mind, Trump is a very fast learner (and that is a decision, not an ability. A decision to rank learning higher than pride...winning higher than ego).

Trump will enter the next debate much more deadly than this "introductory" debate.
