But most of them knew so little about the issue that they were unaware that Hillary's campaign staff started it back in 2008. When the evidence that the Hillary campaign was behind the whole thing started coming out, they realized this would end up damaging Hillary instead of helping her.

Just another piece of evidence that the existing status of media needs to be regulated by the Voters. We must create laws to make it impossible for one party to have control over the media system.

I wish that were true. Readers of FR are much better informed than most, as we see both the conservative and leftist views of various issues (and criticize both).

But, the average person is completely unaware of Asher's claim about Blumenthal. The lamestream media won't discuss it, because it's counter to their narrative. It will get dropped now, but only because new events have pushed it off the front page. However, I doubt it made much difference.

It's too bad that Asher doesn't have a "smoking gun", such as an email/document or even recording of Blumenthal pushing various anti-Obama narratives during the 2008 primaries. Larry Johnson has also posted an article confessing he pushed Blumenthal's propaganda:

Confessions of a Hillary Insider

But while he links to his anti-Obama blog postings during that period, he doesn't publish any evidence that it was sourced by Blumenthal.

Look at the summary of the stuff Sid sent him:

  1. Information surrounding the corrupt business relationship between Barack Obama and Tony Rezko.
  2. Information about Barack Obama’s ties to Palestinian radicals.
  3. Information concerning Barack Obama’s longstanding ties to the American terrorist, Bill Ayers.
  4. Information concerning Barack Obama’s close ties to radical clerics–i.e., Jeremiah Wright and Father Michael Pfleger.
  5. Information concerning allegations that Barack Obama was not a natural born citizen.
  6. Information concerning Barack Obama being adopted by Indonesian Muslim Lolo Soetoro.

This is virtually every personal attack against Obama that was leveled during the 2008 election. Every one of them originated with Sid Blumenthal, who is known as Hillary's hatchet man.

And, it's clear that Obama knew about it. He forbid Hillary from hiring Sid at the State Dept. So, she instead put him on the Clinton Foundation payroll.

The lamestream media will try to parse this and say that Sid "wasn't working for Clinton's campaign". But, that's not much different that arguing over the meaning of "is".

If you read the comments, someone asked Johnson to post the emails from Sid, and he says "not planning on it". But, he does link to this email from Sid to Hillary on another subject that confirms Sid was exchanging emails with Johnson, and that Hillary had to know about it.

State Department Dumps Hundreds of Hillary Clinton Emails Hours Before Nevada Caucuses

Frankly, I think Breitbart or someone in the conservative media should make a public call for Johnson to release the emails from Sid, to shut up Sid. He is being given a pass on this, because no one is putting up hard evidence.

Just another piece of evidence that the existing status of media needs to be regulated by the Voters. We must create laws to make it impossible for one party to have control over the media system.

Be careful what you wish for. In the hands of someone like Obama or Hillary, it would turn into an attack on conservative media.

“But most of them knew so little about the issue that they were unaware that Hillary’s campaign staff started it back in 2008”

That’s the thing. They pushed it too hard, everyone in unison, from all angles, thinking this would help Hillary with the black vote that she is losing.

Problem is, social media bit back, and presented facts, presented videos, presented interviews from various talking heads back then, that all contradicted the narrative that they were trying to present.

It gets worse, first they presented it as “anyone who supported the birther issue is a racist, and unfit to be president”. Once that got up to speed, they started ambushing Trump’s people. Trump’s people and himself ju-jitsu’d them and turned it around, not only with the press conference but by standing up and fighting back (the talking heads are not used to that).

Now, it’s been dis-proven, and they are left with “whoever started this is a racist and unfit to be president”, and guess what? 70% of Americans don’t trust the media and probably do agree that Hillary’s folks started this. This leaves them in a bad bad place.

The law to control the media bias is simple, break up the corporate monopoly on news, companies not in the main business of news like Microsoft and GE should not own broadcasting and print media period. Limit licenses for radio stations to no more than 5 per person or business entity (and the business entity cannot be a shell Corp). Prevent foreign ownership of media (Buh-bye BBC).

I would go the other way. The private sector. The only thing the media needs is more competition. The internet is helping but the conservative billionaires need to pony up and get a couple of conservative networks up and running.
