FASCISM IS A LEFT WING IDEOLOGY, AND THE NAZIS WERE/ARE LEFT WING AS WELL.
Yes, Jonah Goldberg discusses this at length in his book from a decade ago, titled Liberal Fascism.
Mussolini himself, who devised the term "Fascism", came out of a strong background as a socialist.
“Tutto nello Stato, niente al di fuori dello Stato, nulla contro lo Stato.”
Without getting too geeky, both fascism and communism derive from the same ideological economic root, the Marxist “Labor Theory of Value.” (Thomas Sowell both rejects and accepts this by renaming it).
The bottom line, both accept that the ONLY form of value is the value of physical labor that goes into an object. Thus all talent, management, risk, skill, natural ability, investment, etc. is meaningless. As I’ve shown many times, this is so superficially stupid that you can disprove it instantly: I asked my students, “If I dropped one of you in the middle of the Sahara desert with a pick and shovel and you worked all day digging a very nice hole, why would you not get paid?” They all easily answer, “Nobody wanted it. Nobody asked for it/paid you for it” or some variation. They see it instantly.
Hitler, once you cut out the very clever conflation of BOTH communism and “capitalism” with Jews (so that he could juxtapose his own socialism against both), believed completely in the labor theory of value. All fascists and communists do.
