I agree it's easy to shoot and reliable but I'd take the accuracy of the AR platform over it any day.

I just don’t like how AKs fire from an open bolt.

It always struck me as, I dunno, Unamerican.

Better accuracy maybe bench shooting, but not burst fire. AR’s have more muzzle rise than a 74 - much more.

Now if you put a compensator or brake on an AR I’d probably agree with you, but most come with that stupid bird cage flash hider.

Agreed the AR platform is able to shoot sub minute of angle groups & is a lovely system, but the ak will do the job under conditions that would make a billy goat barf. It (the AK-47) was literally designed to be used by third world conscript troops that still had cow crap between their toes & damn near no training and the damn thing works and like the Energizer bunny it keeps on working & working & working.
