So the police detained me on suspicion of bank robbery
Canada Free Press ^ | 08/09/16 | Dan Calabrese

Which wasn't nearly as absurd as some people's comments, which show just how skewed people's view of the police has become

Yesterday around noon, someone in my city robbed a bank. It happened at the TCF Bank branch at 12 Mile and Crooks (yeah, I love that too) here in Royal Oak - which in case you’re not a regular reader, is just outside Detroit.

As this was happening, I was sitting a few blocks away in a park, writing. This is not an unusual thing for me to do. I find that an office is an unnecessary expense, but I’m not a big fan of working at home, so in the summer I like to find my way to a picnic table or some other outdoor venue and get my work done. Some people who see me doing it think it’s strange, though, and yesterday someone who spotted me also had this thought: Maybe that guy sitting there is the bank robber!

This is part of a new trend in virtue signalling:

1. See a pet crying in a non-hot car? Just call the cops.

2. A kid walking home? He’s neglected by a bad parent. Call the cops!

LOTS of examples of this.

People want to demonstrate they’re MORE responsible, more concerned than the next guy.

It’s totally stupid.

So I helped them check it off.

That is the attitude that helps you not get shot by the police. Not everyone shares that attitude when interacting with the police. And I am only referring to the innocent subjects.

Yep I agree with him, too many people are quick to criticize. For them I say become a policeman and walk a mile in their shoes. Or just see if you can schedule a ride along. A real eye opener for sure.

I don’t think the comments he chose to ridicule were deserving - but it’s his experience. I don’t get it.

The police would have been correct to shoot him.
A grown man on a bicycle wearing funny looking red shorts and what looks to be a blue apron.
Is that a Twins shirt and cap he is wearing? If so then BANG! BANG! BANG!

Alot of times a police patrolman will have to read between the lines in dealing with the public. We had a lady on our beat who would call in real late at night, reporting a "prowler"...we'd service the call with a close inspection by flashlights and spot-light. By the time we finish investigating she invites us in for pie and coffee. A senior officer later filled me in...she was an elderly widow and mostly just wanted a little attention now and then.

"Well Lieutenant we were just trying to do what's right."

Shortly thereafter, I posted about the experience on Facebook.

Why? Oh Lordy why are people so intent upon sharing every mundane, quirky, boring detail of their shallow lives? Facebook is blight on humanity.

Facebook is a girl’s world. Pictures of food, cat videos and age old aphorisms in odd typefaces.

It is a crashing bore.

Why would the police stop and question him?

1. Was he the outside look out?

2. Had he see anything?

3. Was he the bank robber returning to the area to see what the police were doing? (Yes they are that dumb, and have returned.)

The police have to cast a wide net looking for any clues. Most of it goes no place, but it has to be done.

I note that virtue signaling is entirely the domain of leftists, as if their hollow, empty value system nags at them and they must take extraordinary steps to mitigate their obvious defect.

Virtue signalers are way worse than concern trolls!

In keeping with protocols and spelling techniques used on FB and Twitter, I will respond appropriately:

<sarcasm>

"Who really gives a **** about what u eat? Your a ******* raciss. Just go head an ******* kill ur self and do us all a favor you ******* cracker."

</sarcasm>

There. Wasn't that useful? Don't we all feel better now?
