Using confidence points makes the Pick’em League harder than it looks. My goal is to always win 10 - pointers. There were a few weeks where I couldn't pick anything right.

And it will happen again this year to us all.

So please keep up the taunting and mockery of others. It makes for good banter and gives everyone a smile.

Just know that a perfect week is rare.

I started a new league at Yahoo!! Fantasy ... er ... Sports. Another Pick’em league. Here are the details.

Welcome to Yahoo Sports Pro Football Pick’em.

You have created the Private Group called FReeper 2017 No Rhinos and the Pick Set called Trump Verses Deep State in that group. To allow other people to join this group, send them the Group ID# (4185) and the Password (freeper). Remember, it is the Group ID#, not the group name, that other people must use to join your group.

You are now ready to participate in Pro Football Pick’em. Your goal is to earn more points than other people by selecting the winner of each of this year's games. Now, you can even set up your group to keep picking through the playoffs!

Quick explanation of “Confidence Points” please? Higher # = higher confidence? 16 points in total for all the week’s games? All games must have a “confidence point #” assigned to it? Thanks.

Con Points:

Higher the number.... the higher the confidence of a win by that team. Every game must be assigned a confidence point every week. When By weeks start the The con points are adjusted to reflect the total number of games played that week.

Taking a look at week 1 in the NFL, suppose that you are positive that Kansas City beats New England that week, so you choose to give KC the maximum 16 confidence points. Dallas gets your 15 point pick against the Giants, and so forth.

If KC wins then you collect the 16 points and cry over your vanquished foes that thought that NE had a chance to win that game.

Everyone tallies up, and in a week with all teams playing there is a possible 136 points to guess the straight up winner. After the 17 week season most folks will post between 1,000 and 1,100 points.

As AU posted earlier, no one ever gets a perfect week with 16 teams but I seem to remember at least one perfect week when fewer teams played. We are merely trying to pick 16 winners, and can't even accomplish that.

Most fantasy leagues cost money, if only to prevent fantasy super teams. We charge nothing but a little pride, and ask that a donation be made to Free Republic at the end of the year.
