And after secession, and the bloodletting, and the risk of foreign intervention, and assuming the good guys aren’t forced to an agreement while staring at the tip of a bayonet, said good men and women will sit down to amend and improve their previous Constitution.

IOW, they’ll do what they should have done before the nation flew apart.

I would rather live(if I live) in a small(er) republic than a huge empire.

Cant run away with it at present. Most states conservative now and it takes 3/4 of states to pass anything. It will not last long so it is now or never.
