I believe the Navy will take care of this. It may take a while, but it will be handled.
I know a few Navy guys, and not one of them is a dummy.

PC is 100% dependent on people feeling guilt and shame. This is the key to Alinsky’s methods and political correctness overall.
If we can find a way to snap people out of this mass delusion where they feel guilt and shame for every issue, we can end this nightmare. People suspend common sense and accept things they would never normally accept because they feel guilt or shame.
I don’t know HOW we can get people to snap out of this mindset, nobody seems to point out this obvious structure of the PC movement. Maybe some of you freepers can offer some ideas! Trump is of course a bug step in the right direction, but one man is not enough.

Our son will be leaving the armed forces this year rather than staying in and retiring. He enlisted in a military that insisted on polished boots and crisp BDUs, a military that didn't issue "hurt feelings" cards, a military that issued berets to special forces only, a military that did not give preference to homosexuals, a military that tolerated soldiers getting into fist fights now and then, a military that didn't seriously punish people for being un-PC, a military whose mission was acknowledged to be national defense, not social engineering.
Good luck, America. You are going to need it with the armed forces you have left.

It also occurs to me that if they country ever did break up, others outside would take advantage of that sudden split, and the weakness of our forces. I'm sure you can build the rest of that scenario.
What you are talking about are ideas...memes.
In the modern world they are spread by mass media and the Internet.
The good news is that each of us has a role to play by spreading sound ideas and ridiculing bad ones.
The bad news is that there are millions of us so no individual or small group of individuals will control the discourse.
Since the elites are using political correctness to keep everyone else under their thumb I believe that removing the economic and political power from the elites is the first step to changing the meme map.
As you say, Trump is a good first step on that.

I thought naming of vessels was reserved for the distinguished enlisted only... this is more of the same in your face move the social issues crowd makes when they get a toe hold in the military ranks. Another “accomplishment” of the current rat in office.

The sailors who would be ashamed are either retired or close to it. The junior enlisted and officers today are a product of a society that has grown increasingly accepting of gays. They'll think nothing of serving on the USS Harvey Milk alongside their openly-gay shipmates. Public schools and the media have done their job.
I'm a LPO of a work center with 13 years in. I know of which I speak. Currently, my greatest challenge as a leader is scheduling training around the childcare requirements that the increasingly growing number single moms in the ranks present me with. If we had to deploy tomorrow, half my shop couldn't find someone to take care of their children.
And as LPO, I'm smart enough to keep my opinions to myself lest my CO winds up with a stack of career-ending grievances against me on his desk.
This ain't your grandpa's navy. Today's military is turning into a federal jobs program with great pay and benefits. They aren't bothered by gays in the ranks or ships named after them, as long as the paychecks keep coming and the Tricare doesn't stop.
The people responsible for tearing down our military need to be gone,right after receiving proper punishment.
