This is not 1984 and Donald Trump is not Walter Mondale.

Some women have been mentioned as potential running mates but none of them measure up to the qualities of the six men who are supposedly the finalists.

Trump needs to pick someone who is credible as a potential President from day one, if need be. Lincoln picked Andrew Johnson to help win the election and he turned out to be a disaster as President when Lincoln was killed. There will be fanatics and nutcases gunning for Trump just as in the cases of Truman, Kennedy, Ford, and Reagan.
